Developers

Since the late 1990s, several development companies have been formed. They now rank among the world's leading developers, and are responsible for some of the most breathtakingly adventurous commercial and residential concepts anywhere in recent years. We have provided a brief description of each of the main developers on this page.

Emaar

Founded in 1997, Emaar Properties is now a publicly listed company. In 2004 Emaar completed 8, 000 homes for occupancy, in developments such as the Meadows, the Emirates Hills, and Dubai Marina. Responsible for Dubai's newest landmark skyscraper, Burj Dubai, Emaar is targeting property investments in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and other countries.

Nakheel

Nakheel creates what the World Economic Forum has called "iconic structures". A testament to this is its portfolio of land-reclamation developments, including the World, Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali, Palm Deira, and Dubai Waterfront.

Dubai Properties

Dubai Properties is a division of Dubai Holding. It is responsible for the Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai Healthcare City, and other commercial and residential developments. Among these is the Business Bay, which promises to transform Dubai's business district, and the Villas, at Dubailand.
